WHY IT EXISTS

The trap is buried inside one violent bar.

Reversals often print as one violent, two-sided bar where the crowd gets trapped: buyers chase the highs and stall, sellers slam the lows, and the real story is buried inside the footprint.

Eyeballing both extremes of every bar in real time is slow and error-prone, so most traders only see the trap after price has turned. This indicator reads the cluster data for you and marks the bar the moment two-sided aggression and a decisive close line up.

WHAT IT DOES

Built to do one job well.

One clear read

A messy two-sided bar resolves into a single directional marker, decided by the close.

Confirmed on close

Computed on bar close and never repaints. The signal you see is the signal that was generated.

Objective rules

Strict imbalance and volume conditions replace subjective eyeballing at both extremes.

Adapts to bar size

Detection zones scale with each bar’s range, so tight balance bars and wide trend bars both read correctly.

HOW IT WORKS

Strict rules, no guesswork.

For each closed bar the indicator examines the zones at both extremes for genuine trapped aggression on each side.

Only when both are present does the close decide the direction of the signal: near the low prints a short, near the high prints a long, and an indecisive close prints nothing.

The detection logic itself is our work: refined on live tape, and the reason the tool is worth paying for. Sensitivity, filters, colors and display are all yours to tune.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

What data feed do I need?
ATAS connected to a feed that provides footprint/cluster data: real per-price bid and ask volume, like Rithmic or CQG. It works on futures, most crypto perpetuals and volume-based stocks. It is not usable on spot forex, which has no centralized volume.
Which chart types and timeframes work best?
Footprint/cluster charts give the cleanest read, and it also renders on candlesticks. Any bar type works: tick, volume, range, time, Renko, reversal and more. It is built for scalping and intraday trading.
Does it repaint?
No. Every signal is computed on bar close, so a marker on a historical bar reflects exactly what was detected.
Can I combine it with my other order-flow tools?
Yes. It is designed as a confluence layer, so it sits cleanly alongside delta, imbalance, POC, VWAP and your own levels. It flags a condition; you decide how to trade it.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
The trial is granted straight to your ATAS account email and expires on its own after 7 days. No card up front, nothing to cancel.
