THE QUESTION IT HELPS YOU ASK

Which active areas
are worth watching?

01 / THE CONCEPT

An area to watch.
A lifecycle to follow.

Liquidity Zones builds supply and demand areas from qualifying absorption, rejection or failed-push evidence. Active zones extend across the chart and evolve as new closed bars arrive.

Follow an active area through its lifecycle.Explore supply and demand, one concept at a time.
Illustrative supply areaClosed-bar creation
Illustrative supply zone formed from evidence on a closed barA closed bar with qualifying evidence creates a supply area. The area extends to the right edge. Its extension is an area to watch, not a forecast of future price.
Origin evidenceZone extends rightArea to watch

A qualifying closed bar establishes the area. Extending it across the chart keeps that price range visible; it does not predict a bounce.

01 / FROM EVIDENCE TO AREA

Supply takes shape.

Bearish absorption, rejection or failed buying can contribute to a supply zone, assessed with the bar’s price response.

Created on a closed bar.

The zone is established from completed-bar evidence. No separate Rejection or Fail Push indicator is needed.

This is inferred from traded footprint data. It is not a view of resting limit orders.

BEHIND THE AREA · EVIDENCE, CONTEXT AND MAINTENANCE

Qualifying order flow

Absorption, rejection or failed-push evidence contributes to formation.

The price response

The bar’s movement and closing location add context to that evidence.

Dynamic boundaries

Compatible nearby zones can merge, changing the combined range and strength.

Ongoing maintenance

Touches, age and invalidation affect which zones remain active.

Concept states, not a recorded trading sequence or a signal formula. Geometry, bars, colors and callouts are illustrative. Combining, retesting and invalidation are possible lifecycle events; they are not a required path for every zone. No later price outcome is promised.

The zone can change as the chart develops.

Creation and maintenance occur on closed bars. Existing areas can merge, lose strength or leave the active view. Optional touch alerts can respond during a forming bar when the relevant settings allow it.

02 / ON YOUR CHART

Active areas.
Useful detail.

Supply and demand ranges extend from their origin across the chart, with the context available on hover.

Choose the view you need

Inspect the area’s history

Hover for its price range, strength, retests and origin time/age.

Follow new areas and touches

Optional alerts cover new zones, touches or both. Only drawn zones can alert.

Make the zones readable.

Creation and maintenance use closed bars. A touch alert can respond during a forming bar when enabled. Alerts start switched off.

03 / CHOOSE THE RIGHT READ

Several ways to build
an area to watch.

These tools map areas using different evidence and lifecycle rules. Choose the question that fits your analysis.

01

Liquidity Zones

THIS TOOL

Where does qualifying resistance to a push create an active area?

Uses absorption, rejection or failed-push evidence with price context, then manages merging, strength, retests and removal.

Where did one-sided volume build at an extreme?

Marks qualifying one-sided volume behavior and projects zones for a later retest.

Are strong same-direction delta levels stacked together?

Turns qualifying runs of consecutive strong-delta levels into zones, with its own projection and termination controls.

04 / THE RIGHT SETUP

Before you add it.

Liquidity Zones runs inside ATAS and works independently. You do not need another Footprint Lab indicator to use it.

WHERE IT FITS

Keep active areas in view.

  • Map supply and demand context inferred from traded order flow.
  • Inspect an existing area when price returns to it.
  • Track how merging, touches and time change the active view.
KEEP IN MIND

A zone is an inferred area to watch, not proof of resting orders or a guaranteed bounce. Its range and strength can change, and it can leave the active view.

Need help with your setup?
Ask Footprint Lab

Is Liquidity Zones an order-book heatmap?
No. It infers supply and demand areas from traded footprint data, including absorption, rejection and failed-push evidence. It does not show resting limit orders, locate hidden stops or identify an iceberg.
When do new zones appear?
Creation and maintenance occur on closed bars. A zone extends from its origin across the chart while active. An optional zone-touch alert can respond during a forming bar when the relevant settings allow it; that does not create a provisional new zone.
Can an existing zone change or disappear?
Yes. Compatible nearby zones can merge, changing their range and strength. Touches and time affect strength, and zones can leave the active view through close-based invalidation, age/retest limits or active-zone capacity. They are dynamic areas, so a blanket promise that every historical rectangle remains unchanged would be inaccurate.
Are the strongest zones always the nearest?
No. Strongest Supply and Demand selects a zone on each side using strength and age weighting. All Active Zones draws the active collection. The nearest supply/demand output series is a separate calculation and may refer to a different zone from the strongest one drawn.
What can I inspect on hover?
Hover details show the zone’s price range, strength, retest count and origin time/age in bars. Strength is an internal reading, not a probability that price will bounce. Retests track later bars that overlap the area; the count is not a list of guaranteed successful defenses.
How do the alerts work?
Alerts start switched off. Once enabled, you can select new zones, zone touches or both. New-zone alerts occur on bar close; touch timing follows the alert/preview settings. Only zones selected for drawing can alert. Historical recalculation does not replay live alerts.
Do I need Rejection or Fail Push on the chart?
No. Liquidity Zones includes its own engine and works independently. It uses those forms of evidence internally; buying or running the separate marker indicators is not required.
Which display settings can I change?
Choose strongest supply/demand or all active zones, set supply/demand colors and transparency, and place the zones under or over price bars. Formation thresholds, zone-age limits and retest limits are internal engine settings; this page does not promise that each is a user control.
Which instruments have automatic presets?
Auto maps NQ/MNQ to the NQ preset, ES/MES to ES, and CL/MCL/QM to CL. QM shares the CL calibration. Other instruments use Custom calibration and may need volume-scale adjustment. Footprint/volume-at-price data at one tick per price level is required.
How do I activate Liquidity Zones after purchase?
Supply your ATAS account email at checkout. Access is granted to that account, and the included PDF guide walks through setup. Follow the ATAS activation instructions in the documentation.
