THE QUESTION IT HELPS YOU ASK

Is the push losing
its ability to extend?

01 / THE CONCEPT

The pressure is there.
The progress is fading.

Fail Push examines the gap between aggressive participation and what that effort achieves. Slowing progress, the closing response and opposing absorption can strengthen a failure reading.

01 / THE EFFORT

Buying remains active.

Illustrative footprint with aggressive buying on the ask sideBIDASKPressure persists on the ask

One-sided activity is part of the picture. The question is how much price progress survives.

02 / THE RESPONSE

The close retreats from the high.

An illustrative buying bar explores higher but closes back toward its starting areaHighCloseLimited retained progress

Movement, efficiency and the closing response help distinguish effort from the result.

03 / THE READING

Which side failed?

A QUALIFYING EVENT CAN SHOWBearish Fail Push

The buying push is struggling to hold its progress. The marker describes that failure.

The next move is still open.

A failure reading does not guarantee an immediate reversal.

Evidence of resistance

Opposing absorption can reinforce the failure reading.

Stalled volume movement

Traded-volume movement and volume context add to the picture.

Concept illustration. These are examples of evidence assessed together, not an exact signal checklist. Geometry, marker styling and colors are illustrative; no subsequent price outcome is shown.

The marker direction describes the failure.

Failed buying can produce a bearish reading. Failed selling can produce a bullish reading. Signal Strength and spacing filter what appears; a marker is evidence to interpret in context.

Failure has a direction

A bearish marker describes failed buying; a bullish marker describes failed selling.

03 / CHOOSE THE RIGHT READ

Several ways to read
a weakening push.

These tools examine different conditions. Choose the question that matches what you want to understand.

01

Fail Push

THIS TOOL

Is aggressive effort losing its ability to extend price?

Combines slowing progress, efficiency, the closing response and supporting order-flow evidence.

Has an extreme delta climax failed?

Looks for the specific failed delta-climax pattern.

Is the specific zero-print exhaustion pattern present?

Looks for a particular print/candle condition. Fail Push does not require that exact pattern.

04 / THE RIGHT SETUP

Before you add it.

Fail Push runs inside ATAS and works independently. You do not need another Footprint Lab indicator to use it.

WHERE IT FITS

Examine where progress weakens.

  • Examine strong pressure that achieves limited progress.
  • Add evidence around a level or setup you already follow.
  • Keep the failure reading within the wider market structure.
KEEP IN MIND

A failure reading does not establish that a reversal must follow. Price can pause, retest or resume its original direction.

BUILD THE CONTEXT

Understand pressure that meets resistance.

05 / STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Keep the context.

Ask Footprint Lab

Why can heavy buying produce a bearish marker?
The marker describes failed buying pressure. A bullish marker is the corresponding failed-selling reading. Its direction follows the failure being identified, so a bearish marker does not mean that selling volume dominated the bar.
Does a failed push guarantee a reversal?
No. A weakening push can lead to a pause, another test or a reversal, and the original direction can resume. Fail Push highlights a qualifying failure reading; it does not predict the next move or provide an automatic entry instruction.
Do I need Impulse running on the same chart?
No. Fail Push includes the engine it needs and works independently. You can use it alongside other tools, but no additional Footprint Lab indicator is required.
Can the marker change before the bar closes?
Yes. Forming-bar previews are enabled by default and can change or disappear before the close. Turn live previews off for closed-bar-only markers. Changes to settings or chart history can recalculate historical readings.
Can I adjust the display and alerts?
Signal Strength changes the display threshold and marker spacing. Marker style, size, gap and colors are configurable. Alerts are off by default; once enabled, bar-close timing is the default, with an earlier option for forming-bar previews. A score is not a win probability.
Which instruments have automatic presets?
Automatic presets cover NQ/MNQ, ES/MES and CL/MCL/QM. Other instruments use Custom calibration and may need volume-scale adjustment. The chart needs footprint/volume-at-price data at one tick per price level.
How do I activate Fail Push after purchase?
Supply your ATAS account email at checkout. Access is granted to that account, and the included PDF guide walks through setup. Follow the ATAS activation instructions in the documentation.
